Hard water is water with a high presence of calcium and/or manganese. When these minerals are present, water becomes “hard” to sud when soap is added. Hard water also causes unwanted scale and deposit build up in our pipes, appliances, and on our shower doors and countertops. We have systems to effectively tame or remove the minerals that lead to the damage of faucets, bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, water heaters, and pipes.
Soft water simply means the absence of calcium and manganese in water. The benefits of soft water greatly reduce the amount of buildup found on anything water comes in contact with. Extending the life of your faucets, appliances, and pipes; while improving the feel of you skin and hair.
The most effective way to soften water is through an ion exchange system. When the resin that catches all of the calcium in your water is in need of cleaning, your water softener will automatically regenerate the resin bed. In this process the resin is slowly rinsed with salt that is pulled from the brine tank. During this process, the calcium that is stuck to the resin clings to the salt ions and both the calcium and the salt are flushed down the drain. When this is finished, your softener will rinse itself to clear out any left over salt and your softener will be ready to soften water again.
